Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region
In partnership with our community, Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region empowers and supports women and children to move beyond violence and abuse through the provision of safe shelter, transitional housing, education and outreach services.
Chatham-Kent Victim Services
Chatham-Kent Victim Services offers various crisis intervention services to persons affected by crime, tragedy, disaster, and traumatic situations. Our emergency crisis support services, which are accessible through Police, Emergency Services, and Community Service Partners, are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. With a team of dedicated volunteer Crisis Responders, we help victims cope with the impact of crime, tragedy, and trauma. Our professional, in-house Crisis Support staff facilitate and coordinate wrap-around care and educate survivors on local resources and appropriate support services in the community. We also work to educate the broader public by offering training opportunities on various topics.
Safety Network Durham
Safety Network Durham provides a centralized place in that multiple different agencies come together in one location to support the multiple needs of women affected by gender-based violence (i.e counselling, housing, legal support, financial support, etc).
Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic
The Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic offers legal, counselling and interpretation services to marginalized and racialized populations of women who have survived violence.
Sakeenah
Sakeenah is a network of transitional shelters across Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba and Saskatchewan serving women and children facing domestic violence, homelessness or poverty. Sakeenah also provides casework for everyone, as well as mental health services and support clients with achieving their goals. We provide free education and awareness workshops related to finance and budgeting, mental health and self care, legal and employment. Our work is holistic to achieve the highest level of independance for our clients.
Women & Children’s Shelter Barrie
Women & Children’s Shelter Barrie provides a safe refuge for abused women and their children in our commitment to end violence against women. Our services aim to reduce barriers for women experiencing abuse and human trafficking to support their healing and journey to success.
Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre – Violence Against Women Program and Chrysalis House shelter
Chrysalis House is a safe and secure 25-bed shelter in Western Ottawa. It is a place where any self identified woman or gender diverse individual over the age of 16 can go to protect themselves and their dependants from violence and abuse. In this supportive environment, an individual can focus on their personal needs and choices, as well as on their dependants’ needs. The VAW Counselling Program provides individual and group counseling to women aged 16 years or older who identify themselves as having been sexually, physically or emotionally abused by their partners or significant others (could be a caregiver or other immediate family/household member)
